terms of use

Who we are
CardDropX is operated under the trading name CardDropX by [Legal entity name TBC], registered in [Jurisdiction TBC — expected England & Wales]. Registered office: [TBC]. Contact: [email protected].
Agreement
By creating an account or using CardDropX you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. CardDropX provides software for trading-card collectors, sellers, and streamers. We are not a retailer and do not buy, hold, or resell your inventory. Paid features are a digital service; see Refunds & cancellations below.
Eligibility
- You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- Creator monetisation and paid seller features are for users 18+, or under 18 only with verified parental consent where we enable it.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
Membership & fees
- Free, Paid, and Max plans provide software quotas and features as described on Pricing.
- Hub checkout (Stripe Connect on Explore) is separate from membership: buyers pay your listing price plus payment processing (pass-through by card region) and a CardDropX service fee (0.5% default, £0.30 minimum). You receive your full listing price. Details on Pricing.
- Storage add-ons and other optional products are billed separately when selected.
- Prices shown in the app are estimates for reference — not guaranteed buy or sell prices.
Subscriptions & auto-renewal
- Paid and Max memberships, stream connector subscriptions, and add-ons are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time via billing settings or the Stripe Customer Portal; access generally continues until the end of the current paid period.
- We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Refunds & cancellations (digital service)
CardDropX provides digital software and online services — not physical goods. By creating an account, subscribing, or using paid features, you acknowledge that access begins immediately (or as soon as your plan is activated).
- Change of mind: Membership fees, stream connector fees, storage add-ons, and other digital subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has started, except where the law requires otherwise.
- UK & EEA consumers: You may have a 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts, but this can be lost for digital content if you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once delivery begins (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 / equivalent EU rules). Creating an account and starting a paid plan constitutes that request where we present it at signup or checkout.
- Faulty service: Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights if the digital service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill or is not as described (Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK; equivalent local law in the EEA). Contact us if you believe the service is materially defective.
- Billing errors & duplicate charges: We will correct genuine billing mistakes at our discretion or as required by law.
- United States: Refund rules vary by state. We do not offer routine refunds for digital subscriptions after access has been granted; chargebacks are handled under card-network and Stripe rules and may result in account suspension.
- Hub checkout (card purchases): When buyers purchase from a seller on Explore, the seller is the merchant of record. Refunds for those transactions are between buyer and seller under their policies and applicable consumer law — not CardDropX membership refunds.
- Annual plans: If you pay annually, cancellation stops renewal; we do not pro-rata refund unused months unless required by law or we agree in writing.
This section is not legal advice. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
Stream connector
- The stream connector lets you connect external streaming platforms (e.g. Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Kick) for OAuth, webhooks, chat commands, and OBS overlay URLs.
- Billing is a flat monthly subscription — not metered per stream hour or viewer.
- Free: £4.99/month for the primary connector. Paid and Max: primary connector included (one platform). +£1.99/month per additional connected platform on Paid/Max.
- In-app battles and static browser sources do not require a stream connector; outbound broadcasting to third-party platforms does.
- OAuth tokens are stored encrypted. You may disconnect platforms at any time from the Streaming hub.
- We are not responsible for third-party platform policies, bans, or revenue on those platforms.
Hub & seller role
- You set prices, hold stock, and fulfil orders on your channels (Shopify, Explore checkout, or link-out).
- On Hub checkout, you are the merchant of record for the cards sold; CardDropX provides software and payment rails via Stripe Connect.
- You must comply with tax, consumer, and marketplace rules in your jurisdiction.
- Fixed-price Explore listings and Hub checkout are supported; in-platform live auctions are not offered.
Affiliate links
Marketplace links may use affiliate programmes. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Prices are estimates only. You must disclose material connections where required when you share affiliate or seller links on your own channels (UK ASA / FTC / EU rules).
Battles & entertainment
Card battles are unofficial showcase modes using estimate snapshots — not publisher-sanctioned tournament rules. No entry fees, stakes, or payouts tied to outcomes on CardDropX. CardDropX is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Konami, or Wizards of the Coast.
Third-party platforms
Live auctions on Twitch, Whatnot, eBay Live, or other sites are operated by those platforms — not CardDropX. We provide link-out and overlays; we do not facilitate off-platform sales or settle trades between users.
Your content & intellectual property
- You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, listings, profile text).
- You grant us a limited licence to host, display, and process your content solely to operate the service.
- Card game names, artwork, and data may be subject to third-party rights; we display catalogue data under applicable API terms and do not claim official publisher endorsement.
- You must not upload counterfeit, infringing, or unlawful material.
CardDropX platform intellectual property
The CardDropX software, including its user interface, grading and scan pipelines, Graded Intelligence Layer (GIL), condition analysis, battles logic, and related documentation, is proprietary to CardDropX. Except where third-party open-source licences apply (see our repository THIRD_PARTY.md), you may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, replicate, or create derivative works from our platform code, models, weights, or trade-secret configuration without prior written permission.
Estimates, advisory condition labels, and slab ranges are generated by CardDropX systems for convenience — they are not professional grading opinions and must not be presented as official PSA, BGS, CGC, or publisher certification.
Prohibited use & fraud
- No abuse, scraping beyond permitted APIs, credential sharing, or attempts to bypass security or rate limits.
- No use of the service for unlawful gambling, money laundering, chargeback fraud, or sale of counterfeit goods.
- No misrepresentation of estimates as guaranteed valuations or investment advice.
- No fraudulent checkout activity, stolen payment instruments, or impersonation of other sellers or creators.
Enforcement, suspension & recovery
- We may suspend or permanently ban accounts that breach these terms, abuse the platform, commit fraud, or pose a security or legal risk — with or without prior notice where urgent.
- Suspension or termination does not automatically cancel an active subscription billing period already paid to Stripe; you must cancel renewal in billing settings. Fees lawfully due for services already supplied remain payable.
- Where permitted by the laws of England and Wales and any mandatory rules in your country of residence, you remain liable for losses, chargebacks, refunds we must issue because of your conduct, and reasonable costs (including investigation and legal fees) caused by your breach or fraud.
- We may cooperate with payment providers, platforms (e.g. YouTube, Twitch, Shopify), and law enforcement. You must not use CardDropX OAuth tokens or integrations in ways that violate third-party developer policies.
- Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be excluded under consumer protection law.
Service availability and product development
We strive to provide a reliable and uninterrupted service. However, the Service may occasionally contain bugs, errors, technical issues, or other defects, and certain features may not always function as intended.
Users are encouraged to report any bugs, errors, or unexpected behaviour they encounter. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate reported issues and implement fixes or improvements where appropriate.
The Service may be updated, modified, improved, or discontinued, in whole or in part, at any time. By using the Service, you acknowledge that occasional technical issues may occur and agree to use the Service at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardDropX is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted service or accuracy of third-party price data. Our aggregate liability for claims arising from these terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Termination & suspension
- You may close your account at any time via Account settings or Privacy & data settings, or by contacting support.
- We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, abuse, or legal requirement.
- After subscription cancellation or downgrade, scan retention follows our published purge window (14 days post-cancel unless a retention add-on applies).
Voluntary support & acquisition
Voluntary gifts via the site are not investments — no equity, profit share, or promised return. Acquisition or buyout emails are non-binding proposals only.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice where practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to confirmation by independent legal counsel. Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
